Freq\u00fcenta o Curso Livre de Cinema na\u00a0Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Armando \u00c1lvares Penteado (Faap), em S\u00e3o Paulo, entre 1972 e 1974, e a Faculdade de Arquitetura e\u00a0Urbanismo\u00a0da USP at\u00e9 1976. Cursa\u00a0serigrafia\u00a0com\u00a0Regina Silveira e\u00a0Julio Plaza, e\u00a0gravura em metal\u00a0com\u00a0Romildo Paiva, em 1979 e 1980. Na d\u00e9cada de 1970, realiza filmes de curtas-metragens e participa de festivais. Em 1981, viaja para Nova York, onde permanece por\u00a0dois anos e desenvolve projeto no\u00a0Pratt Institute, com bolsa de estudos da Fulbright Foundation. Volta ao Brasil onde participa de v\u00e1rias exposi\u00e7\u00f5es, viajando frequentemente a Berlim, para onde se\u00a0muda permanentemente em 1991. \u00c9 professor da Kunstakademie de Oslo, na Noruega, entre 1993 e 1994. Em 1998, realiza pain\u00e9is em vidro para a Esta\u00e7\u00e3o Sumar\u00e9 do Metr\u00f4 de S\u00e3o Paulo, com fotos de pessoas an\u00f4nimas, \u00e0s quais sobrep\u00f5e letras coloridas de trechos de poemas brasileiros. A representa\u00e7\u00e3o do corpo humano e os mapas de regi\u00f5es em conflito est\u00e3o na s\u00e9rie\u00a0Body Builders\u00a0(1997-2002). Em 2002, s\u00e3o publicados os livros \"Alex Flemming\", pela Edusp, organizado por\u00a0Ana Mae\u00a0Barbosa, e \"Alex Flemming, uma\u00a0po\u00e9tica...\",\u00a0de\u00a0Katia Canton, pela editora Metalivros;\u00a0em 2005 o livro \"Alex Flemming - Arte e Hist\u00f3ria\", de Roseli Ventrella e\u00a0Val\u00e9ria de Souza, pela Editora Moderna;
